Introducing the Icomera X4, the all new mobile access and applications router for a wide range of transport applications.
The Icomera X4 comes with two cellular modems and WiFi capability and the unit
can hold a maximum of four cellular modems or WiFi cards. Just like with the
Icomera X6 each modem has two SIM card slots to allow geo-fenced selection
of operators as a way to reduce cost in for instance cross border scenarios.
The Icomera X4 is built around an Intel® Atom™ CPU for reduced power consumption and heat generation. The system runs the exact same software platform as the Icomera X6 and provides the same set of application interfaces for developers, allowing apps written for the Icomera X6 to be deployed on the Icomera X4 without any changes.
The Icomera X4 is designed for high-end bus and light-rail applications. Support
for passenger services is included just like on the Icomera X6. However, for
deployments in situations where the passenger count exceeds 100 people it is
recommended that the Icomera X6 is used instead as the extra processing
power, memory and communication options would provide a better end-user
experience. The Icomera X6 will also allow bigger and more applications to be
hosted on the system.
The same web management tools are used for all Icomera X series router, allowing customers to seamlessly manage a heterogenous fleet consisting of Icomera X4 and Icomera X6 routers.
Like all Icomera X Series routers, Icomera X4 is IP67 rated, making it ideal for any dirty or humid environment.
